CORPORATIONS

We welcome corporations to reach out to us for a discussion on how to participate in our climate finance projects. You will find an arena for serious and long-term engagement in climate projects where carbon sequestration, biodiversity development and community concerns are cornerstone values. You will engage with a network of impact investors that are impatient to see climate-mitigating results and respectful to the premises of local communities. Instead of buying random carbon credits to offset carbon emissions, you will rather invest in a long-term commitment in the carbon-credit generating project itself.  This this will be a key element in navigating your company through an increasingly important emission-mitigating strategy. We also see how important it is to develop Corporate Social Responsibility programs for the participation of employees which adds important value to the engagement. Our model is to:

  • Plan and engage in community-driven projects, aiming for high biodiversity and high carbon sequestration.
  • Collaborate with one or more co-funders
  • Assist with guidance in climate-mitigating strategy and sourcing of offsets
  • Develop Corporate Social Responsibility opportunities

COMMUNITIES

Ahueni is operating on not-for-profit principles, where structural investments are paid back through carbon credits. In a world where emissions of Co2 must be reduced, the protection of forests and regeneration of healthy biomass is a key activity in line with frameworks set forth by the United Nations. We represent a network of impact investors who may help to realise projects that follow principles of community participation, biodiversity protection and long-term commitment. If you represent a community that is currently looking to develop revenues from climate finance – and you are ready to commit – feel free to contact us. Areas of activities may be in restoration or protection of grasslands, wetlands or forests. Project planning usually starts with a feasibility study, followed by a period of project design and stakeholder consultation. Some key elements we look for are:

  • Long-term engagement in land management
  • Communities motivated to participate in land-use activities
  • The political framework is accepting and participatory in climate finance solutions
